Biblical Hope

"Biblical Hope is the belief that God has not forsaken us."
-Lloyd Shadrach

That's what I'm clutching today...Biblical hope. It's more than just wishing and crossing our fingers. Lindsey found out late last night that TOMORROW (Tues Dec 11) Guatemala is planning to make a statement about who gets to be grandfathered-in and continue in the adoption process. The predominant rumor is that only those cases who are in PGN (a Guatemala specific stage in the process) will be allowed to continue. We are not yet in PGN. We don't know what this might mean. PLEASE PRAY. I just pray "Jesus have mercy." I am confident that we've been following His call in obedience. Our sermon yesterday at church was all about how Risk is involved in Faith- man how we have seen that! If you've read much of our blog you've heard us talk about that! Hope...Risk...Faith...Prayer

I keep thinking of this quote by Brennan Manning
"To live without risk is to risk not living."

And to further quote our pastor Lloyd Shadrach:
“It turns out, living with Biblical hope y'all is riskier than we’ve been thinking about. It will get us into predicaments that we would not choose for ourselves in a million years. It may cost us dearly, in ways that quite frankly we may not be ready to pay...Biblical hope compels us to make risky plans.”

Thank you for praying for Eliana, the many other orphans in peril in Guatemala right now, and for Lindsey and I- that we keep Biblical hope.

-Chris

Please Lord, place the BEST welfare of these children on the hearts of the Guatemalan Congress today. Please do not allow these children to be away from their families while the adoption system changes. Please Father, make it possible for Eliana to come home in 2008!

Lindsey, thanks for the reminder on our blog!

Chris and Lindsey,
I am praying that GOOD news comes from Guatemala regarding the grandfathered in cases. We all know that God finishes what He starts, and I BELIEVE He will send these children HOME! I am praying for strength for the both of you. Adopting Anne Pearce was the HARDEST thing I have ever gone through and required more faith that I ever imagined. Just from reading your blog I can see what faithful people you truly are, and I BELIEVE God will bless you for your faithfulness!

Lindsey and Chris,
I cannot imagine what your hearts are going through right now. I know that God has brought you to this decision of adoption and He is going to see you through every step. I will continue to pray more...please let me know if there is anything I can do for you guys. I am trusting and believing with you guys...I am also going to add you to a prayer email chain that I am a part of.
Love you guys!

Our Prayers are with you. I love the comment about the risks we take and the fact that we may not even know what is on the other end. It is totally true, however I always believe there is a reason "why" even though we "risk."

Following your blog is very inspiring :-) Hold that faith as HIGH as you Can (although I think you already are!)

Linds & Chris,
I am praying for you today. The picture of Eliana's precious little hand in yours reminds me of Isaiah 41:13: "I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, and I tell you, 'Don't be afraid. I will help you.'" This is my prayer for you......that you will know He is holding your hand as you walk through this difficult process.......and He is still in control!! I pray you will be surrounded with His peace and His presence.

I love you both so much......

I have stumbled upon your web site and have been reading it religiously. I do feel the heartache as we have been trying to adopt a 13 year old girl from Rwanda and government issues has stopped us. Please feel free to tag along on our ride also. My blog is www.fourskibums.blogpot.com. My heart and prayers are with you both. Remeber God is bigger than we can even imagine. Have faith as we continue to.

we are praying too! if it's not one thing, it's another. we are so close to PGN, but not yet there, and are waiting on pins and needles to find out about our case specifically.

dearest Lord, please give us all patience and peace. Your will is perfect. gives us the ability to conform ourselves to it and rejoice in Your good work. if it be Your will, bring all of our little ones home quickly.
