My diaper bag was stolen....BUMMER!!!!

I brought the matching clutch to my diaper bag to Guatemala to go in Eliana's stroller. Seriously, just the other day I was thinking...."wow, I have been here for more than two months and nothing has been stolen." Well, today a lady snatched it out of my stroller in the market. She must have thought it was my purse. She sure will be disappointed when she opens it up to find diapers, wipes and Gerber baby food. It has been a pretty tough few days anyway, so it just made me miss home even more. On a positive note, it was not my purse or my precious Eliana....so we are doing okay!!

Love you all,
Lindsey

Oh! My heart breaks for you. I had my purse stolen once and it was a terrible ordeal to get everything back to normal. Glad you are both okay. That's the most important thing but it still stinks nonetheless that someone would take a diaper bag! I am learning that people will stoop to all kinds of levels though just to get what they want and usually at other people's expense.

Wish you well and to be home very soon.

I am so glad it was just your diaper bag and not anything else!!
I know it stinks but God was watching out for you!

In everything give thanks!

I hate it when that happens...but, you are right. It is replaceable and at least it wasn't important documents or ELIANA!!! Praying you are home soon! You will want to kiss the soil upon arrival to the US!!
Stay safe!

That is a bummer! The sad thing is that stuff may be just as thrilling for the lady as a purse would have been. I always worried about that while we were there (we stayed in Antigua on visits to our daughter; she was in a hogar there) and kept the important stuff on my body. But I did always worry about the other stuff like my camera...still, like you said, your most precious treasure was safe and sound.

Hoping you have a bc soon!

I have been reading your blog for a while and I just had to post on this one, I too stayed in Antigua with my 4 boys and our daughter who we were adopting, and I had my cute little diaper bag stolen out of my stroller!! I had the same thoughts as you ~ "Boy is she going to be bummed!" Hang in there, you will be home soon, and believe it or not, you WILL miss it! I was there for 7 weeks with all 5 kids, what a blessing it was ~hard, but so worth it!!
Praying you're home soon!

Hey- just realized that I don't think I commented about ya'lls visit to the GC garbage dump. That dump, and Potter's House, is where my journey to adoption began. My church went on a mission trip there 3 summers ago. I came home knowing that God was asking me to open my heart to a child from Guatemala. Our pastor's wife was an MK, and her parents helped Gladys open Potters House. My friend (red hair and all!) grew up in Guatemala, babysat Gladys' kids, and her family was an integral part of the beginnings of PH!! that trip and our work there was the most amazing, life changing experience I have ever had!! And now I have Maya to show for it!!! It brought tears to my eyes to see your pictures from there!
Blessings~ stephanie
