"...once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12
I am in the process of writing about this same thing in our family blog for our christmas letter! We too spent a couple of months in Guat. before bringing our daughter home and are forever changed by what we saw!! May God lead us all to do what ever He wills for us because of our experiences there! Blessings, Stacy
I am right there with you. Jonathan and I are going back to Guatemala the second week in January for a seven day mission trip. We can not seem to get enough...
OK LOVE THE PICTURE BELOW THIS POST...and just wanted to let you know I AM IN THE SAME FUNK and have been for a few months...I actualy went to the DR about it yesterday...I love my DR...she so understands that emotionally Adoption IS THE SAME as giving birth...and she says I have Post Pardume...so anywho I was going to email you but I can't find your email address...mine is cmurnan@itxnetwork.com
I can't remember if I've delurked her or not so, just in case I haven't here ya go. I started following your blog about a month before you moved to Guatemala to foster beautiful Eliana. I'm SOOO happy to see that she indeed is home and doing so well. You all 3 look like your having the time of your life. Okay, so now YES I too have such a desire to return to Guatemala. Our sweetie Joshua has been home since Oct. '07. I like many others thought okay just get home, settle in and the "urge" will leave. Well, it's been over a year and it's just as strong as it was back then. I'm sooo tired of crying. As God says we can not ignore what we have seen. I would enjoy speaking with you about possibly getting a team together. I know of 1 other most definetly if not 2. My email is grosskelly@bellsouth.net
I know......so MANY, MANY needs in the country of our children's births.....Guatemala (& helping there) has been heavy on my heart as of late.
The biggest is the need to share the Gospel with the lost there (while caring for physical needs-I believe it is impossible to share the good news of Jesus with people who are hungry, cold or sickunless you help their physical needs first!)
I'm so haunted by the things I seen on my last trip to Guatemala. I know God lead me here for a reason and He allowed me to do great things while I was there and I know He is NOT done with me yet!! You can see pictures on my blog at www.mommyslilblessings.blogspot.com I'm already working on my next trip and I just got home on Thursday, but it was in the works before I even got back home!
We have only been married 6 years, but this one thing we know...we want our lives to make a difference for the Kingdom of God in the country of Guatemala. We love so many of this country's precious children, and by the grace of God we were given the incredible gift of adopting one of them! Her name is Eliana Hope Wheeler...and this is her story (along with our journey on the long road called adoption)! The story doesn't end here....God is calling us to more. Thank you for joining with us....for praying for us....and for loving these kids!! We are so grateful for each of you.

I'm with you! Check out www.whereverhemaylead.blogspot.com to follow along what we're getting ready to do.
I agree 100% and struggle daily with how I can help. It's true--once your eyes are opened to these things, you're never the same.
I totally agree. Guatemala is on my heart continually. I'm praying for direction on what to do.
God's placed this on your heart; he will lead you on why.
Blessings to your precious family.
