News for all of us in PGN......

"The new Attorney General Baudilio Portillo Merlos took over yesterday. The new Sub Attorney General (replacing Barrios) is Attorney Flory de De Leon and she has already moved into the office. It appears she may be holding off making any critical decisions until the Constitutional Court rules. The new AG has requested an audit, as well.

What does this mean? Short term, cases that were simply waiting for Barrios' signature are going to be delayed because of the way the review process works and the audit. With a change of power comes delays in about any business or government entity. Expect an impact on all cases currently in PGN. Long term, we cannot predict what this will mean. As always, we hope that this appointment by Colom will mean a more efficient PGN."

Please be praying for Eliana and all of the other children in PGN!! Pray for a miracle!!! I am trying to give this to the Lord (like every other step), but it is a discouraging.

Love you all,
Lindsey

Update: I am feeling so much peace right now!!! I KNOW the Lord's timing is always best....so many times I think it should be one way, and His way always is better. It may not feel good at the time. But, I am just praising God today that Eliana is our little girl!!! It is going to be one big celebration when she comes home whether it is 3 months away or 8 months. Thanks for the verses and encouragement!!!

This is my prayer right now:

"Lord God, You are our (Chris, Lindsey & Eliana's) stronghold in time of trouble. Help us and deliver us; Deliver us from the wicked and save us, because we take refuge in You." Psalm 37:39-40

God is powerful and able to deliver (even from PGN)!!

I love you......and I'm praying!

Love, Mom (Kay-Kay)

Lord, please, I beg of you that these changes will mean a more efficient PGN and that Eliana's case will overall move through more quickly than others in the past.

Just remember, this was not a surprise to God. He knew this would happen and He is still in control. Our babies will be home with us. God made us that promise.

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

Waiting on the Lord!

Hi Lindsey and Chris,

I wrote some weeks ago (after running into you at Anthropologie in Dallas). Your blog is one of the few that I check daily. And, with that, you are frequent fliers in my talks with our Lord! I'm praying as you have asked. Thanks for allowing me the privilege to come alongside of you!
Love in Christ,

ugh... i'm so sorry lindsey. every potential delay is just heartbreaking when you're separated like this... it's so hard to find a divine reason for your daughter being delayed from her forever-family... you'll be in my prayers for strength and peace... and a speedy approval! ...keep clinging to Him.

I understand what you must be feeling right now as the adoption process with Guatemala has been ever changing and scary for quite some time. We were able to bring our Elena home on Dec 4 of 07, but it was scary getting there, but as you know God does have a plan even in the
scariest of moments. Continue to lean on him and know he has a perfect plan for you and your sweet Eliana. Praying for you daily.

Lindsey, 3 days after returning from our visit trip last September Guatemala announced that it would be shutting adoptions down. At that time, they were not promising to Guarantee any "grandfathering" of current cases and from that point on, it was a constant roller coasters of unknowns. What I can say to you in regards to this new news is...Guatemala has constant changes that will "appear" to threaten adoptions, and GOD always WINS!!!! "Do not fear, for I have overcome the world". She's coming home....they are all coming home. Susie

I'm hoping that this will be good news in the long run - a short delay now for less petty kos and holding cases later.
Thinking of you -

Abba Father, Right now we ask you to take control of this situation...I know that you have called Chris and Lindsey to adopt Eliana and I pray that you would do a miracle. Keep sweet Eliana cradled in you strong arms. I also ask that you would breath new life into every fiber of Chris and Lindsey. Give them strength and courage through this time of the "unknown"...we know that you have a plan and you know all.

In Jesus' Precious Name - AMEN

Chris and Lindsey, I love you more than words can say...and I am just a phone call away if you need anything.

As much as you don't want to hear this I must say it. Our timeline hardly ever matches His. But I know you know that. When we finally got out of PGN and got all our paperwork together I was looking thru it and discovered that we were actually out in mid Nov. and didn't get a call until late Jan. I was furious, hurt, disappoint etc.. but then I had some serious prayer time and heard it so clearly....I wasn't ready then....And looking back at it now I can see that I wasn't. He knows the right time....And when that time comes it will be the absolute best time for you two and for your sweet baby girl.

I am very sorry for this stumbling block. Call on Him, that's all you can right now.

Praying for Eliana and all the children in PGN. May the Lord work as only He can to bring these precious children to their families. Praying that you continue to feel His peace.

Adoption certainly increases our prayer life.

Praying HARD for all of you still in process!!!!

Our God IS ABLE!

Remember that adoption is something close to God's heart & the enemy would love to thwart it. If he can't thwart it, (which he can't if it is in God's will)than he will try to make us in-effective for God.

This has been a verse that has been a big comfort to me in the past few years, as our adoption processes hit small road-blocks-

"Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established" Proverbs 16:3

Reminds me to stay active for Him during our waits.

Lindsey and Chris,
During our adoption, we hit one MAJOR roadblock after another... for 12 months! I fought and struggled with God the whole time. Only at the end, did I find the peace and rest He wanted me to have the whole time. I can honestly say ( and I know it seems easy for me since Bella is home) that, despite my disappointments with things moving slowly and her coming home later instead of sooner, His timing was PERFECT and she arrived into our family at HIS PERFECT time. It will be that way for you.

Remember, NO man can thwart the plans of God for His children. I am praying for you guys and I cannot wait to rejoice with you when that day is HERE!
