Our baby girl is sick!!

Sweet little Eliana is super sick....and we would love your prayers. She has been fighting a cold for a few days....and yesterday she started coughing. I started having flashbacks to Guatemala and her little body suffering with bronchitis. It is the Lord that we found a great after hours pediatric clinic (in Tulsa). We took her there tonight just to see if they could give her an antibiotic. The second the doctor started looking at her....she said that we needed to get chest x-rays. We had to buy another breathing machine (because the one from Guatemala had the wrong voltage). She screamed and kicked and cried through the entire breathing treatment. Then, the chest x-ray took her over the top. They had to put her tiny little body in a plastic machine with her arms straight up in the air. It was so pitiful....I just cried watching her scream. Once it was over, she yelled "NO, NO" to the x-ray technician. It made me laugh. Our little girl had two ear infections and pneumonia. We are going to be giving her breathing treatments every 4 hours for 4 days....around the clock. Pray that she will not fight them....and that they will help her cough. I will keep you updated.

Love you all,
Lindsey

P.S. We got to take Eliana to Oklahoma City today (not knowing she was so sick) to finally meet her great-grandmother Mee-Maw!! It was an incredible time. I will post pics later. We love you Mee-Maw (Jeanie and Melissa)!!

Praying over here in CA, also. Hope she gets better soon..

Need some prayers over here, too; we lost another family member the week before Christmas - this time it was my mom's oldest brother's wife (from a second stroke)

I'm so sorry Eliana is sick--I'll pray that she gets better really soon and that those stinky breathing treatments go smoothly.

I didn't know you had family in OKC! We're in a suburb of OKC--next time you're in town, let me know and maybe we can get together . . .

Madi just recently has gotten over pneumonia so I know EXACTLY how you feel. The xrays were horrible. I will be praying for Eliana. It is so hard when they are that sick and you can't do anything.

So sorry Eliana is so sick. But on the positive side, the more she cries during a breathing treatment, the more medicine she is getting deeper in her lungs which is good. I have definitely been there!

Hope she feels better real soon and you guys be safe!

Chris and Lindsey,
I am so sorry to hear that Eliana is so sick. I will definitely be praying. By the way, I did not know you all were in OK and had family there. I am from Tulsa myself. I'm very jealous to say the least. Have a great trip! Lisa

My oldest used to do the same thing when he was that age with breathing treatments. It does get better. To distract him we would let him watch a movie so that it didn't seem too bad. It will get better. Just the other day he was sick and needing a breathing treatment (we now know what to listen for) and he asked for it.

Oh Lindsey, I know your pain of watching your child scream. My youngest son had RSV when he was an infant, we had to do breathing treatments for years after that, but he did grow out of it. The best thing for Eliana is actually crying through her breathing treatments because she inhales the medicine more thus relieving her breathing difficulties more efficiently. Its hard on you, but best for her. I am praying for you dear friend and believing that "by His stripes Eliana is healed!" Luv ya all, Susie
