Hey friends, I know that there are so many people in need.....but I just got an e-mail about one of my neighbors. Her husband left her (leaving no money).....with a little boy and girl. She just found out she lost her job and is devastated. She called one of my friends asking if they could spare any food because her kids have nothing to eat. I am heartbroken for them. And I am going to do something about it!!! I will be going to the store in the next few days to buy them groceries....and hopefully figuring out how I can help in finding connections for a job (I love to network). But, I wanted to see if any of y'all would want to help. You can e-mail me at lindseyewheeler@hotmail.com.
I have been really, really upset over all of the hospital/doctor bills for Eliana plus the rest of her adoption....and then something like this happens and makes me realize HOW MUCH WE HAVE!! We don't have to worry about food/clothing. Please be praying for this family!!
Thanks friends,
Lindsey
P.S. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for praying for Eliana!! She had a rough "tummy" day....but I really do think that she is on the mend.

Lindsey, I read your blog regularly, and I love the stories of Eliana. I don't usually comment, but I just did a post on my blog yesterday about a ministry called Angel Food Ministries that I recently discovered. Feel free to check out the post. This may not help your friend out immediately, but if she is in this situation for a while...this will definitely help in the future.
Go to angelfoodministries.com and type in your/her zip code in your part of Tennessee. We have over 60 locations in West Tennessee where I live. (Memphis.) You can feed a family of four for a week on $30 or get a 10 pack of pre-made meals for $28. It is a great ministry, and if there are locations around your area this may greatly help her. There is no limit on how many of these food boxes one could buy. Perhaps you can find people at your church to sponsor a food box? Buy her enough food for a month around $100 instead of at the grocery store?
All proceeds go directly back to the ministry and the church that is a pick up location. Again, this might help her in the future--not an immediate answer. It's such a great ministry, open to anyone, all incomes, and the food is great! I tried it this past month.
Also, they are always looking for church host sites, and it only costs the church $50 to get started. Perhaps your church would like to get involved?
Hope this helps. Sorry for the loooong comment.

I am so sorry to hear about your neighbor! Glad to hear little Elaina is starting to do better! I have been praying for her! I will pray for your neighbor too!
Lindsey,
I am a momma of four, and I marvel at how great you are doing with your little one. You are being "baptized by fire" as far as her health. Keep doing the awesome job that you have been doing :)

Lindsay, PLease contact me via email. I need to talk to you about our plans for the charities that you have listed. I am Hopes mom at: http://adoptingbabyhope.blogspot.com/
Please email me at: chanan7@gmail.com with your blog name in the subject line.
We are praying for you guys and just love so much reading your blog. Eliana is so adorable. I loved her bows so much and have tried to find them here...but could not...I searched for how to books even on the net..but nothing. One day with a different word search there was a tutorial...I found them and they are so easy to make. I love those cute bows.
God Bless Y'all,
Rachael and Hope
PLEASE HELP: We're needing more info about Steven Curtis Chapman's adoption center, as we, like you, want to make a difference. Yes, you are so right, we are so blessed just to have food, water, clothes & shelter. Thank you for all that you and Chris are doing. I haven't met you in person, but learned of your Christian hearts/your adoption, etc. through our good friends Amelia & Scott. I was an orphan until age 6 when my parents miraculously adopted me (and my older brother, too) and changed my world. So, naturally, I am called to missions, too, to pay back some of the blessings in my life. Tom and I are in prayer to start the adoption process soon, maybe a little girl from China since they seem to be so devalued there. We already have 3 kids, but have ALWAYS been called to adoption since we first got married. My best friend just adopted, too, and of course Scott and Amelia and their two amazing boys.
So, if you could point us in the right direction, we would appreciate it. We're not rich. My husband works for the government (at least we have great health insurance) & I work in non-profit arts & music ministry...so we need to figure out how to get grants/pay for this, but we're really considering it now that God has started healing me. (I've been battling severe hypothyroidism, etc. but HE is awesome & I am being helped by Vanderbilt's endocrinology department--we just saw Amelia & Micah when we were there a few days ago--we live nearby in Huntsville.)
Anyway....we're the Austins (we've written you before/ordered t-shirts, etc.--we know you're so busy and couldn't write back) and would love more info about SCC's program, especially with Chinese girls & any personal contacts you have as personal contacts always help so much. We prayed so hard for his family with their recent loss of their precious little girl. The Chapmans are heroes for Christ like you and Chris.
Many blessings and THANK YOU for any info/contacts you could give us on this adoption journey,
Lana Austin
