Trusting

You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book?
Then my enemies will turn back
in the day when I call.
This I know, that God is for me.
In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

Psalm 56:8-11

Every day has been so different....actually, every hour we have different emotions. But, what an encouragement this verse is to me this morning. He is for me!! He is for Chris!! He is for Xiomara!! There are people that I love that have different opinions and think we are crazy for loving Xio like this. I am learning to be okay whether people agree with us or not. It is a funny place to be in. We don't know the outcome.....but we KNOW that our Savior is calling us forward. We are putting Xio at the feet of Jesus.....and today I am begging the Lord to help me overcome my fear. He knows what is best for her.....and that is what we want. Today I am praising Jesus that He is growing us through this pain and suffering. I love the verse, "what can man do to me?"......I do not want to give into depression, bitterness or anger.....I want to praise Jesus today! Thank you Lord for loving me.....for sending your Son to save us. I need You!

It is a brave journey you are on and an amazing faith walk... Christ will show through you, grow you, strengthen you, and touch more lives than you will ever know about on this earth. Xio is blessed by your love and for the fact that you are fighting for her. All children need someone to fight for them. I pray for you and Chris that God will protect your marriage and bind you tighter !!!

YOU ARE NOT CRAZY ... YOU ARE ANSWER THE CALL !!!!

I posted a call to prayer for you on my blog today- I know the Lord delights when his children are united in prayer-- and the enemy hates it!!

I think you both are acting like Xio's parents and there isn't anything crazy about that! Praying that you have the strength and endurance to fight for her.

Bless you all! I saw your blog for the first time yesterday and you guys have been on my mind and in my prayers since.

I am a blog-acquaintance of Gwen too. I know of a blog of someone who adopted from Guat also and she HIGHLY recommends this group:

http://www.adoptionsupervisors.com/

She believes she would not have her son home if it wasn't for them. You can see the entry on her son's blog at:

I cannot even begin to imagine the pain you are experiencing! I am so encouraged by your faith and the glory you are giving to God! This fellow waiting-Guatemama will be praying for you to bring your little girl home! I was wondering around blogland and found your precious family.

Lord,
Work a miracle in this case to bring Xiomara home to this family! Your will is perfect and You have planned every moment of her life. Protect her now and provide for every need she has. You are sufficient when all else fails!

Lindsey-
Thank you for your faith, thank you for your strength, thank you for you for your friendship, thank you for the example Chris and you are to me, and thank you for allowing me to walk with you in this incrediable journey. My heart breaks and crys for Chris, you and Xiomare but rejoices that we worship a God they is in control and that we can trust.

Love you,

I was directed to your blog through my friend Emily Alexander and just wept reading your story, and the battle you are facing. Thank you for encouraging a stranger though in how your hearts are trusting God in the midst of it all with blind faith!!

Know that we are praying and trusting God with you all for Xio's life! As I fell in love with and then had to leave precious orphans this summer in Zambia, my comfort could only be found in our Father who says time and time again that HE IS a father to the fatherless and will fight for them!

I pray you receive the miracle you are believing and standing in faith for. Jacob's mother was from ElSalvador as well.
I am so sorry for the pain and confusion you have had to endure. I had a long road finding my Jacob... I can promise He will turn your sorrow into dancing if you continue to trust Him.

Thanks for your comment on our blog. I can't believe the story that I just read about what you are going through. So many emotions come to mind. You will be in all our prayers. Xio is so lucky to have you.

I don't even know what to say. Nothing anyone can say can take away the pain or anger that you feel. Psalm 121 gave my wife and I great comfort with the death of our son last summer. The greatest comfort we have found is in His Word and in prayer. The showers of prayer by many of our friends and family have carried us through many dark times. Know that we are interceding on you behalf and that the Spirit groans with words we cannot even understand or bear. Ecclesiastes says, "Sorrow is better than laughter because it sharpens the heart." My wife and I have found this to be true. We have found God to be always good. Yet, I can imagine that you feel that you have traveled to the pits of despair and there is not a return in sight. I pray that you would find grace and mercy in the glorious Savior. May God give you more and more grace and peace as you continue to grow in the knowledge of Jesus our Savior.

Lord Jesus Christ,
alive and at large in the world,
help me to follow and find you there today,
in the places where I work,
meet people,
spend money,
and make plans.
Take me as a disciple of your kingdom,
to see through your eyes,
and to hear the questions you are asking,
to welcome all others with your trust and truth,
and to challenge the things that contradict God's love
by the power of the cross
and the freedom of your Spirit. Amen.
~John V. Taylor

just know that you are modeling this prayer for me in your journey. I will pray until your hearts are at peace.

Hi Chris and Lindsey, my name is Sherry Orsborne and I live in Portland, north of Nashville. My husband and I are waiting to adopt from China. I read your story from someone's email sent to the Nashville Waiting Parents group. My heart aches for you. I cannot imagine what you are going through. Your faith is a testimony for all of us in this process. I hope you don't mind that I've posted a link to your blog from my blog so others can read and be praying for you as well. May God's peace fill you and I pray you are able to bring your girl home. Take care, Sherry O.
