Update on Sweet Girl!

I wish I could update our blog more....but I go non-stop from 6:30 in the morning until about 11 at night (Eliana is a night owl). Any extra time I have, I try to rest. Eliana is loving her daddy being here. They play games constantly and laugh a ton. She is over the stomach bug (finally) and now has a pretty awful cough and cold. The weather here is constantly changing, so her cold doesn't surprise me at all. Eliana's case heads into RENAP tomorrow....this is the new system for birth certificates in Guatemala. No one has any idea what goes on there....it just makes the process last even longer. We aren't sure how long this step could take. Basically, I am preparing to be here in Guatemala for about 8-10 more weeks if all goes well. Who knows though?! I am trying to just enjoy the time here. We have had a blast just walking up and down the streets....hanging out with the incredible Scott family. This next week, Chris, Eliana and I are going to be working with different orphanages and ministries in Guat....we are SO EXCITED!!

Love you all,
Lindsey

P.S. All of the pictures are from Picasa....it is a free program you can download onto your computer...it is so much fun!!

Hey, Lindsey & Chris! I just wanted to let you know that we have been following your blog and are so grateful for the news about PGN & just for the looks on Eliana's face in the photos with her mommy & daddy! It's awesome. We can't wait for her to come home with you & to meet her in person! Hopefully we will be up there for Thanksgiving and can meet her then. Love you both!

Thank you for the info about Picassa. I downloaded it and I am really enjoying it.

Being a new mom is hard work but so worth it. I am so glad that you and Chris are getting to spend precious time with sweet Eliana. It should make the transitions at home much easier. We continue to pray for all of you. Your experiences are insightful to many people about what goes on in other countries. Thank you for your ministry.

you forgot to add that her favorite aunt will be coming in less than a week... just a suggestion.

Oh, Tia Leah....you are cute. But I'm afraid she already met her favorite aunt.

Favorite Aunt Lauren (that's what she's going to call me)

I am glad your case is moving. Hopefully Eliana will be home sooner than you think! What orphanages are you going to visit?

Lindsey and Chris,
I love this picture...she is just so sweet!!!! I am so sad that I missed out on the time down in Guate with you guys but the time will be made up and hopefully soon.
Hope you guys make record time getting through the rest of the process.
I am very excited that Leah is getting to come down to be with you guys...it is an experience that I wish I would have had with Eliot. Leah will love being able to see the area that you have lived and to see some of the country that Eliana is from.
Love you guys and hope that we can talk again soon!!!

Hey guys... I know you are so busy and I do not want to take away from your time together, but I am really having a hard time dealing with the timelines being moved back so much. I tried to find an email address for you guys but could not see one anywhere. We have not been able to see our little girl yet and she has just turned a year old. I read your blog and was confused why you said you might be there 8-10 more weeks. We had heard that as soon as you come out of PGN you travel in 4-6 weeks with more cases being 6 weeks with everything going on down there. We had never even heard of the RENAP part. We have not got pictures or any kind of medical updates in almost 8 months. I write this as I sit here crying and trying to make sense of it all. We had no idea it could take this long or we would have went and visited by now somehow. We just have so many questions and no answers. I just wondered if you or Chris ever have time, could you please email me msbookingagent@aol.com. We live in North Nashville. Thank you for sharing what is going on with Eliana's case because without the tidbits of information I get from keeping up with your adoption, I would have nothing to go on. We are still praying for you all.

Lindsey,
I haven't forgotten about you... i hope you've gotten my comment. Sarah is sick and we weren't sure about whether she could handle a trip to Antigua or not. Also, we don't have a way into Antigua for a reasonable cost... you don't know anyone do you?? Anyway, we're still thinking about going tomorrow if it's affordable and Sarah is feeling better : ) let me know if you get this tonight if possible : ) Blessings, Marianne
