That's awesome! I wish I could help u too:( We got our jogger on craigs list...
Remember in Guat they bundle their babies, long sleeves, pants, socks.
In Antigua it was often hard to find jars of veggie baby food. There was an abundance of fruit!
Antigua is cobblestone as you know, we took a baby bjorn. Seeing how little E is you may be able to get away with it.
Load up your I-pod, I really missed music from home:)
Enjoy your baby girl, this time is priceless. I am so thankful that Brad and I spent the month with K in Antigua before coming home!

Dear Lindsey,
I know you probably know everything about baby stuff since you work at a maternity store....but I picked up my daughter a day before her first b-day, which is close to the time you will be with Eliana. I have and still use my ergo baby carrier all the time. I carry my baby in the carrier quite a bit because we live overseas and we use public transportation almost always. It really distributes her weight well, and I can carry her for hours with no problem. It has also been a lifesaver when traveling alone or in airports. She is now right under 25 lbs. and --she even sleeps in it with no problems. I also carry her in the hip position so we can see each other. I can't say enough about the carrier. I think in some cases it would be much easier to use in Antigua than a stroller on the cobble stone streets. I also walk to get groceries here, so I use it alot to go to the store ( I use a roll cart of sorts to carry the groceries, and I carry her in the carrier.)Anyway, you might even ask your blogger friends if anyone has one they are not using anymore who could give you one or would sell to you for a very good price. They run about $100 new. Just throwing that out there, because I LOVE mine. I also have a stroller that I love, but think the carrier is so good also for attachment.

Also, I have been sleeping with Emeline next to me in bed. We do everything together. I think the co-sleeping has really helped her attach.

Have you read about infant massage? I don't do it formally, but watched a video about it and have used some of the techniques on my daughter. I don't even use oil. It seems a bit silly at first, but she loves it, and it has helped us bond.

I highly recommend the book called Toddler Adoption. I found a great deal of the information helpful. As I said we picked up right at a year, so we were right on the border of toddlerland, but much info in that book was helpful.

What a special time you will have in Guatemala with Eliana. How wonderful that you get to live with her in Guatemala for a season. I am looking forward to following your journey home. Like I said, I just wanted to share some things that were helpful to me...praying and wishing you all the best.

Blessings,
Shannon M. (Emeline's Mommy)

We are so excited for you to be heading down to be with your daughter forever! What a thrilling feeling it must be! You are in our prayers--as is Chris, as he has to manage without both of his girls!
