Our Miracle Baby!!

We are here....the last 24 hours have felt like a whirlwind. But, we have our precious Eliana with us. How do we even tell y'all what your words of encouragement and gifts of getting us down here mean to us???!!!! We are SO OVERWHELMED by this community of people.....thank you for your love and generosity.

Sweet girl was released from the hospital today, and then she was brought to us at our hotel. I didn't know what to expect.....we were both pretty nervous. Then, the second I saw her....peace just flooded over both of us. God saved our sweet baby's life. It was such a freak thing.....but the Lord was guiding her every single step of the way. The sweet foster mom took charge, called our facilitator.....and then he called the ambulance as soon as he saw her. She was pretty much lifeless in the ambulance....and they started her on oxygen. All I can say is that the Lord heard the cries of His people!! I weep just thinking about it. She is so special. He has an amazing plan for her little life.

She is still recovering.....pretty weak and tired. She will NOT let us put her down (which is okay with us). So, sleeping might get interesting tonight. Pray that somehow she is able to rest. Pray for her little lungs....that she does not get any infections. Her breathing is a little raspy tonight, but other than that....she is AMAZING!!! Is she not just so beautiful?!

I will keep the updates coming!! Please continue to pray for complete healing. Thank you friends....we love you all more than you know. We would not be here in Guatemala today if it wasn't for you. Thank you Lord for saving our baby....she truly is a little miracle!

Love you all,
Lindsey

I am so happy to hear that she is doing well! Praise God for hearing our prayers and taking care of her until you got there.

Oh..pillows are your answer. I held my little one for a LONG time with colic and reflux. I always slept with her on my chest with pillows propping me up like an armchair. :)

Make sure to put some under your elbows.

God is SO good. I am so happy to see this update. Millions of years of Mother Nature can't be wrong....just do what feels right as parents now....you'll always do the right thing if you follow your gut. It is so obvious in the pictures how much Eliana loves and needs you. God will continue to guide you. Feel better soon, Eliana!!

Enjoy this special time with her by yourselves because when you get home your house will be flooded with people wanting to meet her. We continue to pray for her healing.

That is so interesting to me that she vomited in her sleep and choked on it because that exact same thing happened to my two year old about two weeks ago. He was sleeping in his crib and I heard him choking. I got up and found him blue with his body convulsing. I couldn't find my cell phone and had to "take it on" by myself (my husband was out of town). I finally got him breathing again (after I woke him up and got him to vomit) and then took him to bed with me. An hour later the same thing happened but I was next to him and caught it quicker. I realized the reason it was so life threatening was he wasn't opening his mouth and just choking on the vomit. The next night he vomited in his sleep again, but this time I told him before he went to bed that if he needed to vomit he needed to open his mouth. I know how life threatening this situation is. I am grateful for the life of my son and your precious sweet Eliana. I pray you will be able to bring her home SOON! She is an angel and deserves to spend every second with her forever family. May the Lord bless you while you are in Guatemaula and keep you safe.

I love when I pull up google reader and it shows your blog has a new update, especially right now. What an awesome story God has given and continues to write for your family. I feel blessed getting to be a part of it even if it is only through the internet. Maybe next time you guys are in LR I might run into you and meet your sweet baby girl. What a blessing for you guys to be there in her time of need. May God guide and bless you each and every step of the way.
