Oh RENAP.....what are we going to do with you??!!!

Eliana and I both want to wrap up in blankets and sleep until RENAP gets it together!!! Every day, this new system for birth certificates changes something. Now, they have decided to not tell if you are approved or not except for on Fridays. So, again.....we wait. Please pray for a miracle this Friday. I know that the Lord is in control....but we are both so homesick. I miss my husband, my family....and my old roomies. It is just pretty lonely. Eliana turns 14 months old in just 4 days. CRAZY!!! SHE IS AMAZING!!! Even though there are very hard days....I am so thankful that I am here with her.

Love you all,
Lindsey

P.S. I am really stomach sick right now....please pray!!!

Hope you hear good news on Friday. I feel confident you will. Just an instinct. So what's next after RENAP?

Hang in there girl. This time you spend with Eliana is so precious and will make her transition home so much easier. I'll be praying that RENAP lets you out.

Oh Lindsey, I understand your wait. We were part of the Mixco wait...remember its only your flesh struggling with the wait, your spirit is alive and full of joy! God has answered your prayer, its just waiting for the physical manifestation. Time is where our struggle is. Lots of hugs, Susie

Hi Lindsey,
I read your blog daily. We have a little girl we adopted from Guatemala in 2004. Adoptions were much easier and went much quicker then. I am praying for you and have asked friends to pray for you and Eliana's case as well. We will continue to ask our Father to speed your case through ....so that you can be united as a family. Gracie was in the Eagles Nest Home in Solala. If you get a chance to go there I think you would be blessed. Know that I am praying for you and I am committed to do so daily.

Lindsey and Chris,
Sorry for the length of this but a friend shared this with me today and I had to pass it on.

This is from Henry Nouwen's Bread for the Journey - January 5th. (she is not reading it in order obviously!) "Patience is a hard discipline. It is not just waiting until something happens over which we have no control: the arrival of the bus, the end of the rain, the return of a friend, the resolution of a conflict. Patience is not a waiting passivity until someone else does something. Patience asks us to live the moment to the fullest, to be completely present to the moment, to taste the here and now, to be where we are. When we are impatient, we try to get away from where we are. We behave as if the real thing will happen tomorrow, later and somewhere else. Let's be patient and trust that the treasure we look for is hidden in the ground on which we stand."

What I realized from this tid bit is that when I do not "stay in today", every moment of today, I miss the One who is I Am.

I so constantly am hurrying the Lord in prayer for you, us, and everyone else on my prayer list. He has perfect timming, He is never early, I have never heard of being late, only right on time.

We do pray for the girls to come home soon so you can be reunited and share each moment together, in the mean time know you are right where God wants you and needs you for one of His greater purposes.

In Him,
Melanie Colson

Here's the Renap Procedure to help with understanding the time process:

RENAP INTERNAL PROCEDURE:
The following are the steps that your file is going to pass through during the RENAP stage process.
1. The file enters to RENAP
2. The file is assigned to an Operator
3. The file is submitted to the Notarial Section
4. On the Notarial Section the file is reviewed, and confirmed that all the documents are in accordance to the Guatemalan Law.
5. Acceptance
6. File Digitalization : Once the documents and information has been digitalized, the adoption is register and the Birth Certificate can be extended.
7. Certification shall be extended.

Hello,

You don't know me, but I stumbled upon your site after reading a bit of several others' journeys. I began with a friend's adoption blog and found myself clicking on linked sites, eager to read more!

You and your family are so beautiful, and I've been touched reading your story. I'm living in Guatemala right now as well, though in the western highlands, as a Peace Corps volunteer.

I'm coming to Antigua next weekend and would like to bring you a little something, if I may. Would you email me sometime this week, if it's not too weird for you to get in touch with a stranger?
